Afro-Contemporary Dance - Exploring a synthesis of traditional West African and Modern Dance techniques, students investigate the dynamic play of rhythm, release and control in their movements. Classes are energizing and vigorous, and incorporate a warm-up; technique, combination, and improvisational work; and a cool down/strech. Beginners are welcome.

Alignment Yoga (lunchtime) - Through the use of precise language, demonstration, and props, students are introduced to the incredible joy that is yoga. While learning proper alignement in poses, students will receive individual instruction to meet their personal needs. Don't worry if you are tight, inflexible, or nervous about trying yogs; as your understanding of yoga grows, you will walk away feeling much better than when you walked in the door!

Ashtanga Yoga - Focusing on the primary series of Ashtanga yoga, classes focus on movement coordinated with breath (vinyasa), focal points (drishti) and use of energetic locks (bandhas) to detoxify, purify, and realign the body. This is the first of the six series in the Ashtanga system as taught by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. Students will learn sun salutations, standing poses, seated postures and backbends.

Dynamic Movement Education (DME) - Private DME sessions seek to facilitate the individual’s discovery of “embodied” and aware movement. Sessions combine guided movement exercises, imagery, breathing instruction and hands-on-work, and are tailored to meet the specific goals of each student. Goals range from postural realignment, to injury healing, maximizing athletic or artistic performance and “feeling more at home” in the body.

Firedancing - Traditionally called Poi, the relatively young performance art Firedancing is based on an ancient Maori martial training technique. Classes teach the secrets of this ancient and beautiful art while building strength and endurance in arms, wrists, and shoulders, and cultivating integration of upper and lower-body movement. Weave and flower techniques will be taught in a focused but easy-going class environment. Students will learn to integrate techniques into improvisational dances to various types of music.

Hatha Yoga - Hatha yoga helps develop strength, flexibility, body awareness and mental focus and calm. Classes incorporate breathwork, vinyasa sequences and sustained poses. Excellent for students new to yoga as well as more advanced practitioners, classes emphasize gaining a sound knowledge of movement and asana alignment principles and an exploration of how this leads to an integrated and empowered experience of body, heart and mind. d and empowered experience of body, heart and mind. Iyengar Yoga - A method of Hatha yoga developed over the past 70 years by yoga master B.K.S. Iyengar. The approach emphasizes postural alignment, the use of props to facilitate learning, and therapeutic sequences for specific conditions. Iyengar yoga develops strength, flexibility, concentration and clarity. It is suitable for students of every age and fitness level. Please see day of week for class levels.

Prenatal/Mom & Baby Yoga - Through gentle strengthening, stretching and breath exercises, expectant mothers will explore the changes their bodies are undergoing, and prepare for the brilliant and intense experience of childbirth and mothering. Special emphasis is placed on developing core strength and mental focus and calm. Mom and baby pairs will focus on abdominal/core rehabilitation, and techniques to counter the physical and emotional challenges of caring for an infant. Class focus is primarily on the mother, but taught in ways that engage and connect the mother and child. Series/Prorated Series.

Swing 101 - Designed for the beginner dancer, this class will teach you everything you need to know to survive on the dance floor! Basic footwork, turns, and easy, fun moves. Bring a partner or come on your own—all are welcome!

Vinyasa - Rooted in the rhythm, repetition and breathwork of the Ashtanga tradition, this class guides students through a strong, flowing, physical practice. Conscious attention to the breath helps students deepen their practice and journey inward. Moving with awareness from breath to breath and asana to asana, we enter the moving meditation of Vinyasa yoga. Levels 2-3.
